Dear friend of Sharm,

Sharm and I knew each other for almost a lifetime. We played together at the University of Iowa, as part of the Hawkeyes' "Fab Five" starters, and often roomed together on trips to away games. We became friends because of basketball, and then remained close over the years as our lives expanded to include families, deepening faith, and the kinds of wins and losses that happen in real life – after the games end.

Sharm had the heart of a coach, always taking an interest in the challenges facing young players, and in developing a kind of personal substance they would need to get through life successfully. I'm not surprised that he finally put his ideas in a book. Like the BCI organization, Step Up Your Game: A Playbook For The Next Generation Hero is part of Sharm's legacy.

Sharm was a man of integrity, character, and faith. His life stories and advice, and the challenging questions he asks at the end of each chapter of Step Up Your Game, will be enjoyed by everyone but are meant to help young athletes, and all kids, discover and develop personal strength and substance.

If you want to connect (or reconnect) with "old school" basketball, or know a young athlete, a young man or woman, or if you are just rooting for the next generation of heroes, check out Sharm's new book at www.sharmscheuerman.com.

Thanks. I know you'll enjoy Sharm's book.
