Editor's note
|
As the prime minister continues to wrangle over climate policy this week, the Liberals are having an existential moment – the latest in a long line in recent years. And as Michelle Grattan writes, Malcolm Turnbull may have to manage the discord, revenge politics, panic over recent byelection results and general muddle-headedness by ensuring he has a National Energy Guarantee he can actually deliver, and insisting the party room take a decisive
stand on it. The next few days will tell us much not only about the future of energy policy, but about the future of the Liberal Party.
