Downtown Station Locations

The Orange Line's downtown station locations on Marquette and 2nd Avenues are being adjusted slight to better serve downtown destinations and operate more seamlessly with existing express bus service. The 7th Street Station will be moved one block south to 8th Street, removing the need for the 9th Street Station. A new station on the northern end of downtown was added at 3rd Street, placing the vibrant North Loop within walking distance of the Orange Line.

Route Improvements

The Orange Line route map shows stations along I-35W at or near the following locations: 5th Street, 7th Street, 9th Street, 11th Street, Lake Street, 66th Street, American Boulevard, 98th Street, and Burnsville Transit Station.

Transit service  just became more convenient and flexible for our riders. On Saturday, March 19th two major service improvements were implemented in the Orange Line corridor. Four mid-day trips were added to Route 467, which provides express service between Downtown Minneapolis and the Lakeville Kenrick park and ride. The new trips will provide greater flexibility for riders who need to take a half-day from work or get to an appointment in the early afternoon.

Route 11, which connects the 46th Street/35W Station to neighborhoods in South and Northeast Minneapolis joined the Hi-Frequency Network. This group of route offers trips ever 15 minutes or better throughout most of the day on weekdays and Saturdays. This will mean less waiting and more convenient connections for transit riders.
