PreK4 eNews

We had another great week talking about the special families that God gave us! We also worked hard learning the letter “Cc”. The show and tell items helped reinforce the sound “c” makes.  Thank you for helping your child select an item; it is a proud moment when they get to share…and Show and Tell builds confidence, vocabulary, and other language skills!

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “For nothing is impossible with God.”  Luke 1:37 (We will practice this verse for two weeks.  Practice at home too!)
  • Bible: Abraham Shares With Lot
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Oo” and the short vowel sound that /o/makes (think octopus and octagon). We will continue to learn that words have syllables.
  • Math: #3
  • Unit: Five Senses
  • Show and Tell: To reinforce the short /o/ sound, we will learn about opposites.  Bring two pictures that show opposites…such as happy/sad, big/little, fast/slow, etc… (An example of fast/slow could be a race car and a turtle.)  Please glue these pictures to the index cards that are in your child’s folder and we will make a class book about opposites.  The children enjoy reading our class books we have made and we appreciate your help with gathering the pictures!
