PHC MECA Update 18 June 2020

Kia ora koutou

Tomorrow (Friday) is our “Seeing Red Day”. So lets collectively pull out all stops for a successful and visible day across Aotearoa New Zealand!

A reminder that:

  • We have a series of posters that you can download and print out for display. Dress up your workplace in red with these on your walls, and put up red balloons and any other red props you have to hand.
  • Use the 'We are seeing red because...' poster template. Write why you are seeing red and take a photo of yourselves with your message. Please email your photos through to campaigns@nzno.org.nz.
  • Wear something red to work, maybe wear a red ribbon as an armband, make red cakes (or something healthy and red) for morning tea.
  • Encourage patients and clients to sign the petition.

Your employers have been asked by their representatives to support the Seeing Red Day and the petition. This week the NZ Medical Association has encouraged their GP members and the entire team to likewise wear red tomorrow as a visible statement of support, and to consider ways of promoting the petition to patients and the wider community.

Here is a photo of some Christchurch PHC MECA members today having a practice run at their workplace.

Ngā mihi
