WE'VE MOVED!
But only in terms of timing. We used to publish this newsletter right around the first of each month. But have since decided that a better time would be after each of our monthly Board of Director's meetings. So starting this month you can anticipate a newsletter somewhere after the third Wednesday of the month, that third Wednesday at 2:00 PM being our normal meeting date.
Our September meeting was a few days ago.. so here is a brief recap of what transpired. Why not come to a meeting and see first-hand what we discuss and agree to and disagree on?

MEET OUR NEWEST CHAMPIONSHIP BOARD MEMBER!
Dr. David Ahr was nominated by our Board President Tom Murphy after discussions and several recommendations by the President of Eagleton Cove, Herb Andrew.
David replaces Mr. Earl Goodman who has served Championship for quite some time but has now moved to Devonshire. We wish Earl and his wife Toni all the best in their new home.
As we have for some time now, the Championship Board has at least one individual from each of the six Eagleton HOA's serving on its Board.

Landscaping
Our Landscape team of Paul Slepakoff and Dianne Silich continue their monthly Landscape walks with our contracted landscaper (Revival Landscape Services). At this month's meeting they discussed the replacement of the summer annuals, which unfortunately did not survive for as long as we would have liked.
There were also discussions and agreement about replacing a palm tree at the entry from Ryder Cup Boulevard. Unfortunately, the tree is slowly dying and despite valiant efforts, does not seem to be coming back. There was also quite a bit of discussion about the landscaping at the traffic circle on the Pinehurst side.
Seems there is never an end to doing landscaping in a community as beautiful as Eagleton.

Street (and Holiday) Lighting
The good news, brought to us by the Lighting Team of Terry Leonard and Paul Slepakoff, is that all the HOA's within Eagleton have agree to turn on their holiday lighting on the same day... the Friday after Thanksgiving - which this year is Friday, November 25th. We are hoping for and anticipating a common turn-off date as well in early January.
Street lighting within Eagleton has been a concern of the Board for several years.
The original developer of Eagleton did not leave any usable grid diagrams showing how power gets to each of the different street lights, landscape lights and irrigation pumps on both General Drive and Championship Drive. As a result, when a fixture or device goes out, it is often difficult and costly to make necessary repairs.
Your Board has received an initial bid from an electrical engineering service (EES) company to provide us with a survey of the existing grid, identify obsolete electrical equipment, and provide us with a comprehensive assessment report.
To hopefully minimize the cost of such a survey, the Lighting Team is working with the PGA-POA and with Florida Power and Light (FPL) to first identify any surveys they may have in their archives. Once that work is done, the EES will proceed with the work required.

Access Control and Privacy
Several items were discussed by Tom Murphy and Tom Sedita, our Privacy Team members.
Perhaps most important is that the transition to St. Moritz Security is complete and we now have 4 full-time gate officers, Yes, Steve and Ritchy are still with us and two new gate officers, Beatrice and Janae, along with one part-time gate officer, Marie, have joined the Championship team.
Discussions continue with regard to the overnight Remote Monitoring proposal. The Board has heard from several homeowners, both positive and negative, and agreed to survey the entire Eagleton community before proceeding with any contractual implementation.
The long awaited Driver's License scanner has been installed and is working well, the QR Code scanner however is still back-ordered and will hopefully arrive before too much longer.
Two recent incidents that occurred at the gates were discussed, along with the excellent handling of those incidents by St. Moritz Security. Please... ask your guests and contractors to treat our gate officers with politeness and courtesy, as we also expect them to treat your visitors.

Roads and Sidewalks
At this month's Board Meeting, the membership approved a motion to go out to bid once again for replacement of the pavers at the Reclinata circle.
A report by a consultant had indicated that the roadway was safe and that the sinking in several areas was only an aesthetic issue. Regardless, the Board decided it was time to act on this long discussed issue. Earlier bids received have now expired so we are asking the contractors for new bids.
We also discussed the repaving of General Drive, and when that should be done. We don’t want the paving trucks to damage the new pavers.. nor do we want the heavy equipment needed for the paver replacement to damage the paving. It's not chicken or egg... but rather pavers or paving.. which should come first?? Our current dilemma.
Look for more information on that from our Roadway team of Ed Finkelstein and Paul Slepakoff in the coming months.

Back Gate Improvements
At the September meeting your Board President created a new team to look at improving the look of the back entry area at Eagleton.
Tom Murphy representing Privacy and Paul Slepakoff representing Landscape will investigate ways to make that entry more visually pleasing to the substantial number of homeowners who enter that way on a regular basis.
