Through months of research and close co-operation with the key industry influencers, Eurotransport Magazine is pleased to announce a new addition to our extensive conference portfolio, focusing on the US Rail and Mass Transit Security sector.

“After discussions with all of the major rail companies and transit authorities it has become clear there is no such conference as this in the US. Following the success of our annual event in Europe now is the time for us to bring together leading mass transit and rail security in the US.” said Steve Coldicott, Director of Events at Eurotransport. “And the response so far has been tremendous, everyone we have spoken is really excited about meeting Chicago in April.”

It goes without saying that safety and security are top priorities for railroads, freight and passengers, for their employees, operations and the communities they serve. Since the 9/11 attack security enhancements have been front of mind at every level, but following the seizure of materials during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, once again there have been widespread media reports indicating al-Qaeda’s interest in attacking trains. As such rail and mass transit security is of paramount importance for all parties.

Rail and Mass Transit Security USA 2012 will provide an unrivalled forum for collaboration and exchanging of information. Decision to build HS2 is a tremendous boost for West Midlands

The Transport Secretary’s decision to build HS2 from London to Birmingham has been hailed as a tremendous boost for the West Midlands by regional leaders.

Key figures from pro-high speed rail consortium Go-HS2, which include Birmingham City Council, transport authority Centro, Birmingham Chamber, NEC Group, Birmingham Airport and Marketing Birmingham, said today’s go-ahead for the project would mean thousands of jobs and a boost of billions of pounds for the West Midlands economy.
