Mathematics Update

Welcome back to a brand new school year. I'm excited to share with you some new offerings and features for teaching math. I hope you find our Course Packs with prebuilt assignments helpful for getting started quickly and the Readiness Assessments a great tool to prepare your students for the next level of math. We also have new content from a wide selection of the top math textbooks now ready for use in WebAssign.

These offerings represent our continuous effort to make WebAssign the most powerful teaching tool it can be. If you have found them helpful, or have suggestions for improvements, please take a minute and send me your feedback. I would love to hear how everything is working for you.

Thank you,

Jenn Ferralli, WebAssign Math Product Manager

Readiness Assessments

To help ensure your students have the skills they need to successfully begin their course, WebAssign now offers both a Calculus and a Precalculus Readiness Assessment.

  • The Calculus Readiness Assessment contains a Personalized Study Plan (PSP) focusing on the prerequisite precalculus topics students need to be successful in calculus.
  • The Precalculus Readiness Assessment contains a PSP focusing on the prerequisite algebra topics students need to be successful in precalculus.

These resources can be used as a refresher throughout the semester or to prep at the start of the new term. They are available as an additional resource with any calculus or precalculus textbook at no additional cost.

Tutorial Banks

To expand your content selection options and to better engage students, WebAssign now includes banks of tutorial-style questions in two key course areas.

  • The Calculus Tutorial Bank includes step-by-step questions covering all concepts in single variable and multivariable calculus and can be used alongside any calculus content. Tutorial banks are available in both Early Transcendental and Late Transcendental arrangements.
  • The Algebra Tutorial Bank includes step-by-step questions covering all concepts in introductory and intermediate algebra and can be used alongside any algebra content.

These two banks of tutorials are available as an additional resource with any supported textbook at no additional cost.
