Tai and Tony Wang will be honored
at CPC’s 53rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration Gala
on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Jing Fong Restaurant

More than 30 years ago, Tai and Tony came to the US chasing their dreams, with their one-year-old daughter Shelley in tow. They started with little money, purchasing a grocery store in Queens. In 1984, they established WAC Lighting, which has since become an international industry leader of task and architectural lighting. With over one million square feet of fabrication and manufacturing capabilities, including three factories based in the United States in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta as well as a factory based in China, WAC offers an industry-leading history of inventing technology-leveraged products. WAC is fully committed to zero waste efforts and preserving the planet for our future generations. Its merit-based mission is to build the most respected light company and be an example of American ingenuity.

Tai and Tony’s professional work ethic and commitment to excellence have been recognized by peers, and their generous support to the community has earned them numerous accolades. Tai was honored for Rotary’s Gift of Life International Humanitarian Award for helping children born with heart defects in China. She also received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for her contributions to America while preserving her heritage. She was additionally honored as a Contributing Founder to Alliance For Smiles, for helping to provide reconstructive surgery and other healthcare to underprivileged children suffering from cleft lip and palate anomalies. Tony was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young.
