Request for Course Development Proposals
Development of Experimental Teaching Modules

The Sheridan Center is accepting proposals to develop experimental modules or new courses that pursue creative approaches to teaching and learning at Brown. Proposals will be accepted beginning on April 1, 2014, and will be evaluated on a rolling basis. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to meet with Sheridan Associate Director John Melson to discuss their proposal prior to submission.

Preparing Now for Next Year's Academic Job Market  Tue, May 13, 2014 at the Sheridan Center

Applying for academic jobs next year? Then come to this program & learn what you should do this summer to get ready. The program features a presentation on preparing now for next year’s market & a panel of doctoral students/postdocs who have successfully navigated the academic job market in the life & physical sciences. 

Cultivating an Online Presence for the Academic Job Market Wed, May 14,  3-4pm at the Sheridan Center
How do you create a professional profile online? How can you use websites and social media to take control of your online image? This session, led by Sheridan Center Associate Director Carie Cardamone, will provide tips and advice about crafting an online profile for the academic job market.

Please join us in celebrating the accomplishments of faculty and graduate students at this university-wide reception and ceremony. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research.
