AFAO joined with other national HIV organisations and research bodies to produce the Melbourne Declaration, an action plan which identifies critical priority actions if Australia is to meet the targets outlined in the United Nations (UN) 2011 Political Declaration on HIV/AIDS (UNPD). Read more ...

The document outlines how best to implement the UN Political Declaration on HIV in Australia. Over 130 HIV health promotion workers attended AFAO's National Gay Men's HIV Health Promotion Conference in May. If you missed it, you can catch up on some of the proceedings on the AFAOTalks blog, or view presentations on slideshare.
The 2nd National Forum on HIV and African communities took place in Melbourne on 27-29 September. Around 80 people attended from around Australia. AFAO Project Officer Jill Sergeant is pictured (L) with some participants in front of a display of HIV prevention and awareness materials.

In September AFAO was delighted to welcome a delegation of 11 Indonesian HIV sector workers who were here to participate in an education program about Australia's HIV response.
