STEEL: ART DESIGN ARCHITECTURE

This exhibition explores the most innovative and outstanding ways that steel is being used by artists, designers and architects in Australia in  21st century Australia and examines our relationship to this extraordinary material.

STEEL: art design architecture is a JamFactory touring exhibition. STEEL: art design architecture is supported by Visions of Australia funding through Australian Government Department of Communications and Arts and the South Australia Government through Arts South Australia.
 

YOUR COLLECTION: HUNTER STEEL

Curated from the gallery’s permanent collection, a selection of silver gelatin photographs by Charles Collin offer insight into the architectural and industrial landscape that has shaped the cultural of Newcastle and the Hunter region.

A gallery project curated by Rob Cleworth.

ARTIST FOCUS: MATTHEW TOME

This showcase spotlights the practice of Hunter-based artist Matthew Tome, who maintains an active studio while heading up Newcastle Art School, Hunter TAFE.

A gallery project curated by Rob Cleworth in consultation with the artist.
