Welcome to our January Alumni Newsletter

It has been a cold start to the year on campus but we have lots of exciting news and opportunities to warm the mood!

We look forward to keeping in touch with you throughout the year and hearing more of your success stories.

OBE award for Vice Chancellor

You may have heard the great news that Professor Margaret House has been awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List 2018, being recognised for her services to higher education.

Professor House started in 2013 and since then we've achieved the highest student enrolment on record, and been recognised as one of the top UK universities for employability, student satisfaction and value-added.

Trinity Alumni Business Network

Have you booked your place for our Trinity Alumni Business Network meeting on Thursday 8 February at Lambert's Yard in Leeds?

This meeting is centred around the value of mentoring in business, and why everyone should have a mentor, and we'd love for as many alumni as possible to get involved.

The event is completely free, refreshments and sandwiches will be provided and it's a great networking opportunity. Book your place here.

Other exciting business opportunities

If you, or anyone you know, has recently launched a business, or is about to launch a business, why not get involved with our Entrepreneurial Knowledge Exchange to share and solve common business challenges and problems? The first meeting takes place on Wednesday 21 February. Find out more.

Featured Alumni - Samantha Fray

Samantha Fray graduated from Media and Marketing in 2011. She recently returned to campus and shared what Leeds Trinity means to her, and her current role at ITV.

“Leeds Trinity is the place I credit with finding my confidence. Every step of the way I was helped and comforted by the excellent staff and student counsellors.

"I’m a Legal and Business Affairs Coordinator for ITV, looking after all the Entertainment and Sports commissions. As well as this, I’m also co-chair of ITV Embrace; a group that has been established to support and nurture talent, both on and off screen. Embrace wants to reach out to young people and tell them more about the media industry.”
