Highlights for high-tech

 

The 2017 Federal Budget contained no major funding cuts for high-tech. Pleasing to note is its committed support for SAHMRI 2. Other features pertinent to our sector were the extension of the Small Business Instant Asset Write-off Scheme, no changes to the R&D Tax Incentive Scheme, $100 million to “boost innovation, skills and employment in advanced manufacturing”, including the creation of an innovation lab in South Australia, and commitment to build the MRFF to $20 billion by 2020-21.
