Session 1: Transition to Producer Responsibility: What we know now.Tuesday, November 2, 2021. 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Transition is happening, but what does that mean, exactly? In this session, we'll take a step back and present an overview of what we know, and don't yet know, about transition. We'll also speak to what the CIF has been doing and our plans for the future. Session 2: Working with contracts in the lead up to transition.Tuesday, November 2, 2021. 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This session will focus on the in's and out's of contracts during the lead up to transition. Managing an existing contract, negotiating a new contract, and ensuring fair compensation can have unique challenges with so much change on the horizon. Municipal staff and subject matter experts will join us and take your questions. Session 3: Transition planning for collection and post-collectionThursday, November 4, 2020. 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CIF is working to streamline our transition planning. Join us for this session to hear your municipal peers and CIF staff talk about the new Collection (curbside/depots) and Post-Collection (transfer stations/MRFs) decision making and asset valuation tools and resources now available. Session 4: What to expect when your expecting multiple PROs?Thursday, November 4, 2020. 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Ontario's blue box regulation allows for there to be more than one Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) - a notable difference from the program in British Columbia. In this session, we'll hear what's happening in jurisdictions around the world that have more than one PRO operating programs, such as Germany, Austria and the United States. We'll also share strategies municipalities and First Nation communities can utilize to contribute to the successful implementation of producer responsibility in Ontario. Register Today!Use this form to sign up for any and all of the panels described above. The deadline for registering is October 29, 2021. What is blue circle? The CIF has always been dedicated to sharing our work so that others may benefit. For years, the Ontario Recycler Workshop (ORW) was a forum to showcase projects CIF supported in individual communities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the blue box. Now, as our focus shifts to initiatives with province-wide benefit as communities approach transition, "BLUE CIRCLE" embodies a commitment of working together and sharing information through events, webinars, training, and other outreach. |
