Various part time positions available, some voluntary and some paid positions. We always require volunteer marshals for our events and we are looking for people to run creative workshops at our festivals. We require assistance with Event Management for 2 events, Barefoot Festival and Bloom Yoga Festival.  Both events takes place in Leicestershire so being local to the area would be an advantage. We are looking for people, preferably with some experience in event management, although this is not essential. Would be great for people interested in work experience. BHM Live: Call for Commissions
BHM Live is an exciting platform to support emerging Black artists, across all art forms. Selected artists will receive mentoring from industry professionals and a bursary to help develop new work. Street Dance Teacher - Beau Dance
Beau Dance are looking for an enthusiastic street dance teacher who enjoys working with children and has experience of working with children aged 4 - 16. The successful applicant will teach two street dance classes and assist the teaching of a third class weekly on Thursday evenings in Coventry. Each week the teacher will be expected to collaborate with dance staff during teaching, teach street dance techniques in sizeable chunks to a range of abilities and choreograph short routines to teach to the students in their classes over a series of weeks. Dance Workshop Leader for Youth Project - Extended Deadline, Mantle Arts
Mantle Arts is running a project with a girl's youth group in Earl Shilton, based on the theme of a 1920s murder mystery. We are looking for a dance workshop leader who could run a two hour session on October 14th, teaching dances that might have been common in the 1920s. You will have worked with young people before, ideally in a youth centre context.  A current CRB check is required. A Midlands base is a definite advantage: this is a small project with a limited amount in the budget for travel costs. We are offering a fee of £100 for the two hour session, plus a contribution to travel. Project Manager - Real Creative Futures, New Art Exchange

Silk Mill – ‘Makers in Residence’ - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM)
Derby Museums are looking for five outstanding ‘makers’, skilled in one or more of the themes of STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths - to design and test the ‘making experience’ at the Silk Mill Museum in Derby. You must be open to the possibilities of working in collaboration and confident in working with a wide and diverse range of people, particularly young people – experience as an educator or facilitator would be an advantage.The freelance fee for each commission is £5k (+ VAT where applicable). Costume Designer/Maker, Oddsocks Productions
Oddsocks Productions is looking for an experienced designer/maker to create costumes for our next national tour of  "The Wind In The Willows". We have a cast of five who will multi-role. The production will be very physically demanding so the costumes need to be very robust, yet light weight and manageable. There are many quick changes. Colourful yet authentic looking. This is a great challenge for the right designer. We have a lot of appropriate costume in stock so it will be a mix of adaptation, sourcing online,with some complete makes. Assistant Curator, Photographs (trainee) - V&A
The V&A is the world's leading museum of art and design. We enrich people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. With the support of the Art Fund and our regional partner, Nottingham City Museums and Galleries, we are creating a curatorial trainee post to provide practical training in photographs curatorship and equip a trainee curator with specialist knowledge of photography and ability to care for and develop photograph collections. The traineeship will last for a period of 12 months. The participant will spend six months (January to June) in the Photographs section of the Word and Image Department at the V&A with a V&A curator as mentor and six months (July to December) at Nottingham City Museums and Galleries working on an agreed project. Closing date for receipt of applications is midnight, 20 October 2014. My Workshop
My Workshop is a project set up to support inventive minds in and around Leicester by providing low-cost access to a range of large scale equipment in a creative studio environment. The 2150 SQF of equipment and working space goodness offers access to all of the machines, use of the studio for your work, WiFi Access, discounts on machine rates, events and workshops, training and peer to peer learning and opportunities to develop collaborative projects. leics.tv - Bringing Leicestershire to Life - #leicsismore!
Leicestershire is soon to have the most innovative online local TV service in the UK.  A new campaign site has just been launched to let people know how they can get involved and present the exciting opportunities coming up. Leics.tv will inspire, inform, entertain and connect people. The team behind the venture has been driving niche web TV projects in the US and UK for the last six years. Illustrated Brum is looking for IdeasTap members to contribute to a new project at mac birmingham. Spring 2015 heralds the first exhibition in a physical space by illustration collective Illustrated Brum. As part of One Hundred Thousand Welcomes, Illustrated Brum is commissioning six bespoke prints to celebrate the different elements of Birmingham’s creative culture - see, make, connect, discover, play, and unwind. Women's Rights Project: Reel Equality Film Club Volunteer - Equation
Do you have a passion for gender equality and women’s rights? Are you into the arts and fanatic about film? Then volunteer as part of Equation’s exciting creative campaigns project, Reel Equality Film Club! From generating ideas to booking venues and marketing, you’ll be key to creating Nottingham’s first film club dedicated to promoting positive representation of women on screen. Reel Equality Film Club Committee recruitment is now open for applications until Friday October 10th. Jerwood Visual Arts and Photoworks launch new photography award
Jerwood Visual Arts and Brighton’s Photoworks organisation – which last weekend launched the sixth Brighton Photo Biennial – have come together to create a new UK-wide photography award to support the making of new photographic work. Open to UK-based artists and photographers, the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards will offer three winners £5,000 each to develop ideas that represent ‘new approaches to photography’, culminating in a group exhibition at Jerwood Space, London. The work will then tour nationally. There is no age limitation and the awards are open to UK-based art practitioners using photography who are within ten years of graduating or establishing their practice. The deadline for submissions is 1 December 2014. BFI Future Film Festival 2015: Documentary
The BFI are offering five IdeasTap members the chance to get their short documentaries screened as part of their Future Film Festival 2014.Would you like one of your short films to be considered for inclusion in the eighth Future Film Festival, in February 2015? BFI are inviting IdeasTap documentary filmmakers to submit their work to the Future Film Festival, the British Film Institute's annual film festival for young people, held at BFI Southbank in London. IdeasTap will host a special screening at the festival for the five winning documentary shorts, alongside a masterclass Q&A with an industry expert and judge. This brief closes on Friday 31 October 2014 at 5pm BST and is open to IdeasTap members aged 16 to 25. Interact Labs Workshop: 3D Modelling for 3D Printing
Sat, 18 Oct 2014, 13:00 - 16:00, Phoenix Interact Labs, £20.00. The course is for those with very little or no experience of 3D modelling but with basic PC/Mac user skills. A Celebration of quality Artists and Makers. An Arts and Crafts Purchase and Commission Fair. Sock is Leicestershire's premiere Art and Craft Fair. Printlab Workshop - UK Young Artists Leicester Festival

Become a Two Queens Member
Two queens membership is open to artists working in any medium, aged over 18 and living within the UK. 2q membership is aimed at those who wish to benefit from the critical dialogue and support that a peer group of fellow practitioners can provide, but do not require a studio space. Members benefits include: Opportunity to take part in monthly group critiques (usually take place on Monday evenings), bi-monthly guest speaker events, the chance to exhibit work in members projects (at least two projects per year) and the chance to join the two queens management committee and become involved with the running of two queens (elections for committee once a year). Royal British Society of Sculptors - Sculpture Shock
Sculpture Shock is an award for artists working in three dimensions. Three winners each receive £3,000 and undertake a 3 month residency in a studio in Kensington culminating in a surprising spatial intervention in one of three non-traditional spaces: SUBTERRANEAN, AMBULATORY or HISTORIC. International Ceramics Competition
The International Competition of GIC Biennale 2015 whole-heartedly welcomes works by artists that re-interpret traditional values of ceramics. The International Competition of GIC Biennale 2015 will be an opportunity to display your imagination and creativity to the fullest; opening the future of ceramics, and presenting diverse issues facing us today that deals with issues including political, social, religious, cultural, and environmental. The following works are welcome: Functional ceramics (design), ceramics as expression (art), and ceramic works that attempt to reinterpret tradition.  Ceramic works mixed with materials and made partly by techniques of other genres, and ceramics fused with other genres of art. Borough Road Gallery Artist Residency
UK-based visual artists of any discipline can apply for a three-month residency  from 1 December 2014 – 28 February 2015, to be followed by a related public exhibition in 2015. The selected artist will receive: access to A David Bomberg Legacy – The Sarah Rose Collection / £3000 (incl VAT) / the use of half of Borough Road Gallery, London as a studio space during University opening hours / access to LSBU facilities / a follow-up public exhibition in 2015 stemming from the residency and incorporating some elements of the collection / up to £800 towards production costs / mentoring and support / up to £200 towards travel (accommodation is not included). Jerwood Makers Open
For artists and collaborative practices working across craft and design disciplines. Five awards of £7,500 and support to develop new work over a 6-month period for exhibition in the Jerwood Visual Arts programme at Jerwood Space and on tour nationally. Offering "artists, makers and designers at the early stages of their careers an opportunity to develop their creative ideas independently of specific commissioning structures." Phoenix Writers - Phoenix Square Book Launch
We are pleased to announce the launch of ‘Phoenix Square’ a book of short stories set in or around Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, and we would love for you to celebrate with us. The free launch event takes place on the evening of October 21st at 7:30pm, in the atmospheric surroundings of the cellar room at Exchange Bar in Leicester. Three professional actors will perform a selection of the stories, books will be available to purchase and it will be the perfect opportunity for other like-minded creatives to meet for a chat in the heart of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter. This book launch is in aid of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance service. The Phoenix Square anthology has been written by the Phoenix Writers group, who are a small, informal group of Leicestershire writers who meet together to exchange valuable feedback and support.

Creative Writing at Cotesbach Educational Trust
Creative Writing with Sue Mackrell and David McCormack. Saturday 1st November in our 18th Century Schoolhouse. Sue and David are both writers – their poetry, short stories and scripts have been published in a wide range of anthologies, books and magazines. They have recently completed a Heritage Lottery funded project researching the Home Front in Leicester during the First World War and run creative writing classes for adults and children at all levels. Join them for a creative writing workshop using artefacts, photographs and documents from the Cotesbach archives as starting points to explore and write about what life was like on the battlefields and the Home Front during the First World War. National Poetry Competition 2014 - closing date 31 Oct
Established in 1978, the Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition is one of the world’s biggest and most prestigious poetry contests. The competition is for previously unpublished poems, has a first prize of £5,000 and the closing date is 31 October 2014. You can enter online, or download a postal entry form here. Please make sure you have read the rules before entering. The top-three winning poems are published in the Spring issue of The Poetry Review. The winners will be invited to appear at various events and festivals around the country, including Ledbury Poetry Festival. Up to 150 longlisted entrants are also offered a discount on selected activities from the Poetry School. Winning and commended poems are published on the Poetry Society website

SLAMbassadors UK - last chance to enter!
SLAMbassadors UK is the Poetry Society’s national youth slam championships, the longest running in the country. Established in 2002 it is committed to finding and nurturing the next generation of spoken word artists. Entries are submitted via filmed poem on the theme of Identity, and will be judged by a panel of artists including Kate Tempest. 18-19 October, Barbican, London. The Battle of Ideas Festival, organised by The Institute of Ideas, provides a forum for free thinking, debate and discussion on a host of topics. Training & Events from The Mighty Creatives

  • Artsmark: an overview for artists Wed 15 October 2014 from 6:30 - 8:30. Artsmark is Arts Council England’s flagship programme to enable schools to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their arts and cultural provision. The framework also presents a vehicle to support the development of closer partnerships between education, arts practitioners and arts organisations. This seminar has been designed to enable artists and arts and cultural organisations to find out more about Artsmark, and in particular the role that the arts and cultural sector can play in helping schools achieve Artsmark status.
  • The New National Curriculum Wednesday 12th Novemeber 2014, 10am-3pm. Voicebox UK, Derby, DE1 1JQ. This seminar will provide an overview of the new national curriculum, which largely comes into force in September 2014. Artists and arts organisations will be given the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of some of the issues, challenges and opportunities that the new curriculum may present in relation to their own work, enabling them to be better informed in their future engagement with schools.

East Midlands commercials production company Origami Films is making the software they built to manage their own company available to others for the first time. Developed and qualified with Filemaker pro, Apple’s database division, “Beankeeper” controls both the “doing” and the “accounting” parts of a business via a set of easy to follow screens and reports. Arts Award Access Funding
The Arts Award Access Fund provides grants of £100 to £1,500 to Arts Award centres working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to enable them to achieve an Arts Award. The Access Fund is designed to help centres who would not be able to complete Arts Award otherwise, rather than to enhance existing projects. Applications open for the Cultivate/DeVos leadership for the Future Programme
Applications are invited for the Cultivate/DeVos Leadership for the Future, a two-year capacity building programme for up to 20 arts and cultural organisations or museums with arts activity throughout the East Midlands. The deadline for completed applications is 15 October 2014 with the first seminar with DeVos Institute Chairman Michael M Kaiser taking place on 20 November 2014. Creative England and Microsoft Funding for Game Developers 
Creative England and Microsoft have announced that round 2 of their Greenshoots programme is open for applications. Through the programme, 10 grants of £25,000 are available to independent studios to develop games for Xbox one, tablet and mobile devises. The games from Greenshoots Round 1 ranged from underwater shoot ‘em ups and robot-infested puzzle games, to futuristic galaxy battles and crazy golf. All of the games, now released, were showcased back in July to a crowd of industry experts and investors. In addition to the grants, successful applicants will also receive support, mentorship and expertise from Microsoft and industry partners. Applications close 9am on the 20th October 2014. Radcliffe Trust grants for classical music
Deadline: 31 January 2015. The Radcliffe Trust supports classical music performance and training – in particular chamber music, composition and music education. Within music education, they are especially interested in music for children and adults with special needs, youth orchestras and projects at secondary and higher levels, including academic research. Applicants must be a registered charity or an exempt charity. Previous grant recipients include the National Autistic Society which received £2,000 for a music room in Glasgow and Birmingham Children’s Hospital which received £2,500 for a ‘Singing medicine’. Grants to Help New, Innovative Visual Arts Projects
The Elephant Trust has announced that the next deadline for applications is the 12th January 2015. The Trust offers grants to artists and for new, innovative visual arts projects based in the UK. The Trust's aim is to make it possible for artists and those presenting their work to undertake and complete projects when confronted by lack of funds. The Trust supports projects that develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the fine arts. Priority is now being given to artists and small organisations and galleries who should submit well argued, imaginative proposals for making or producing new work or exhibitions. Arts Festivals are not supported. The Trust normally awards grants of up to £2,000, but larger grants may be considered. Read more here.

The Fidelio Trust offers grants of up to £5,000 in support of the Arts, in particular the dramatic and operatic arts, music, speech and dance. The Trustees aim to help individuals and groups such as Colleges, Arts Festivals and other arts organisations who would not be able to carry out a project or activity without financial support. The next closing date for applications is the 1st February 2015. Goal 5 Young Leaders EMerge Grant Opportunity - The Mighty Creatives
An exciting opportunity to be awarded a £500 grant to put on an event/workshop as part of EMerge. The aim of this one day event, backed by EMBridge (East Midland Bridge) The Mighty Creatives, is to introduce 5-25 year olds in the East Midlands to a wide and diverse range of arts and culture. The Mighty Creatives are looking for accessible, vibrant, collaborative and celebratory experiences that bring people together in their communities and across the region. We welcome applications from groups of young people themselves and the application may be of interest to: Young Producers Groups, Young Leaders Groups, Young Person Event Groups etc. You will put on your own event on the 14th February 2015 as part of a series of events happening across the East Midlands as part of the EMerge Events Day. Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust
The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust which awards grants to registered charities in the United Kingdom has announced that the next closing date for applications is 1 November 2014. During 2014, the Trust is seeking to fund projects that promote Music and the Arts and help the elderly. Funding for Digital Projects with a Social Impact
The Nominet Trust which provides funding and support to imaginative social technology ventures has announced that the next funding round of its Social Tech Seed Investment Programme will open for applications on the 22nd September 2014. Social Tech Seed is an investment programme that offers early-stage investment of between £15,000 and £50,000 to entrepreneurs who are looking to develop new ventures using digital for social impact. This programme provides funding and support to help entrepreneurs nurture, develop and test their ideas. The Trust is looking for applications that demonstrate the potential of technology to tackle some of the big social issues in sectors including education, employability, healthcare and the environment. Funding for Artists & Bands
PRS for Music Foundation and Arts Council England have announced that the next application deadline for the Momentum Music Fund is the 28th October 2014. The Momentum Music Fund is a £500,000 fund to develop the careers of talented artists and bands. It is anticipated that grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 will be awarded to between 50 and 75 artists/bands over the next 2 years. Applications can be submitted by the artists themselves or those who are working on their behalf, e.g. a manager, an independent label or publisher. Priority will be given to those that haven't been funded by PRS for Music Foundation in the previous 12 months. Read more here.

The Bank of TMC
The Bank of TMC is an initiative that provides bespoke business start-up support to creative young people aged 16 to 25 years old. The Bank of TMC offers grants of up to £5,000 that can be used for capital and/or revenue development costs of launching or growing a business (i.e. marketing, equipment or consultancy and professional support). To apply for a grant, you will firstly need to register your interest by completing an expression of interest form which you can find on this page. Accelerator
Accelerator is IdeasTap's new commission-free crowdfunding platform. As an arts charity and funder, we've been helping creative people to get their ideas off the ground for years. Now we're offering our members a way to raise project funding themselves - without the commission fees other crowdfunding platforms charge. What's more, we're putting our money where our mouth is. Clore Poetry & Literature Awards
The Clore Duffield Foundation is open to applications as part of its £1 million programme to fund poetry and literature initiatives for children and young people across the UK. Through the programme, schools, FE colleges, community groups, libraries and other arts/cultural organisations can apply for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to support participatory learning projects and programmes focused on literature, poetry and creative writing for under 19s. Funding to Enable Disadvantaged Young People Reach their Potential
Registered charities that work with disadvantaged children under the age of 25 can apply for funding of up to £10,000 through the Ironmongers Company’s grants programme. In particular the company wants to support projects that provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people to fulfil their potential and educational activities that develop learning, motivation and skills. Read more here.

Garfield Weston Foundation
The Garfield Weston Foundation helps small, local community organisations and covers a wide range of charitable activity. Areas funded include: education, arts, health, environment, community, youth, religion and welfare. Grants of up to £50,000 are available. There are no formal deadlines for submitting applications. Golsoncott Foundation
Golsoncott Foundation grants are available to voluntary sector organisations in the UK for projects that promote fine arts and music. Grants vary according to context and are not subject to an inflexible limit, but they are unlikely to exceed £5,000 and are normally given on a non-recurrent basis. Read more at here.
