Christy Trout Van Tatenhove ('99) and Jasmyne Post ('21) both grew up in rural parts of Kentucky and came to the University of Louisville with a McConnell Scholarship to help fund their education. Both reflect on how their time at the McConnell Center has impacted them.

Christy shares how experiences at the Center shaped her career and success. She is now giving back in honor of her grandmother, Eva Trout, and challenges you to help support the work of the McConnell Center.

She will match your donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000 total. As you consider your end-of-year giving, help us rise to the challenge!

  • A gift to the Eva Trout Scholarship Fund will help support first-generation college students from eastern Kentucky with highest financial need at the McConnell Center and advance their opportunities and experiences at the University of Louisville.
  • A gift to the Christine Trout Van Tatenhove Educational Fund will support special programming for Kentucky high school students and teachers, including our signature Young Leaders Academy.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

Founded in 1991, the non-partisan McConnell Center at the University of Louisville seeks to identify, recruit and nurture Kentucky's next generation of great leaders. Our core principles--leadership, scholarship and service--guide us as we (1) prepare top undergraduate students to become future leaders; (2) offer civic education programs for teachers, students and the public; and (3) conduct strategic leadership development for the U.S. Army.
