4th Grade eNews

We are looking forward to the Christmas season and learning about the birth of our Savior.

Academics

  • Bible: This week, we are learning about Jesus, the Lamb of God, who shed His blood for the sins of the world.
  • Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:21, “He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”   
  • Spelling - Unit 16  We will be learning the “kw” sound. Ex: Quiz and square
  • Language - Sentence Pattern review and daily Christmas journal writing
  • Math - We will continue with fractions and reducing fractions
  • Science - We will begin the study of light.
  • Social Studies - We will finish our study of the western region with a quiz on west states and capitals on Wednesday.  We will also begin  reviewing all 50 states and capitals for a final test the following week. We will also be studying our class country for Christmas Around the World.
  • Reading - We will finish our novel City of Ember.

Important Dates

  • December 16 - Christmas parties from 12:15-1:00
  • December 15 - International Christmas
  • December 19 - Christmas Break

Reminders

  • Sweaters and sweatshirts worn in the classroom are to be navy blue or Shiloh.
  • Be sure your child brings a warm coat. We will go outside every chance we get!
  • Metal water bottles are not allowed in the classrooms this year. Please send a plastic bottle.
