The branding project I can't wait to tell you about No Images? Click here Hi , 2018 was an awesome year filled with many memorable projects—but none more so than the rebranding of Central Piedmont Community College. Located here in Charlotte, Central Piedmont is the second largest of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges. It’s my ideal project for my ideal client. What makes it ideal you may be wondering? It’s the intersection of my design specialty (branding) with my target audience (higher education). I began work on the logo in August following the brand strategy development created by my friend and colleague Bob Davies of candescence.
And as if working with one HUGE community leader wasn’t enough, I had the honor of partnering with Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) to design their 2017 annual report. It’s been a learning process for both parties, but after reviewing the print proofs last week, I’m thrilled with the end product. Continuing on the annual report theme, km design began working with Union Academy Foundation (another education client—YAAAY!!) to create their inaugural annual report. The foundation, which funds all the building efforts of Union Academy, was celebrating a major milestone with the opening of the lower school (previously housed at a second location) on the main property—creating one campus. It was a big dream come true! Additionally, we worked on the marketing materials for their largest fundraiser the Ultimate Auction and created their year-end appeal. It’s been a match made in heaven, and we look forward to future projects together! 2017-18 Union Academy Foundation Inaugural Annual Report. 2018 was the year of the annual report—which I couldn't have been happier about! Publication design falls right behind branding in km design's ideal project category. My heart is filled with gratitude looking back on 2018. Thank you for being a part of it with me! Wishing you abundance and expansion in 2019. Happy New Year! About Karen McElmoyleWhile creating a fall poster collage back in second grade, I got my first taste of graphic design and fell in love. That same passion still fuels my branding, web and design projects today, as I work out of my home office in South Charlotte. When I'm not designing, I enjoy volunteering at the Carolina Raptor Center, line dancing and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.Do you need a go-to designer? |
