CPC continues to empower and enrich the lives of our community members. Last year, CPC provided over 200,000 New Yorkers of all ages and backgrounds with high-quality services and transformative opportunities.

COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

We empower New Yorkers through training, counseling, and advocacy to create long term, sustained transformation within our communities.

  • 100% of older adult residents at our subsidiary Hong Ning Housing received a yellow whistle and resources to protect themselves against anti-Asian hate
     
  • 3,089 young people worked at hundreds of job sites through the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

  • 200 legislating visits (City, State, and Federal elected) and 60 public hearings / testimonies were made to advocate for our communities 

  • 90 actions, speaking engagements, rallies, and press conferences held to address anti-Asian hate crimes, economic recovery, and pandemic relief

FAMILY SUPPORT

We make it easier for individuals and families to access personalized social resources because support is fundamental to success.

  • 7,113 community members received enrollment assistance or referrals for entitlements / benefits programs

  • 3,168 older adults and people with disabilities served through our subsidiary Home Attendant Program

  • 2,334 community members were connected to After Care Services for long-term COVID-19 symptoms

  • 258 families with intellectual / developmental disabilities participated in support services

 

EDUCATION

We provide high-quality learning opportunities for all ages – from preschool and afterschool enrichment to adult English classes – because education is lifelong.

  • Over 90% of Project Gateway participants were accepted to college and awarded financial aid

  • 95% of Ready Reader participants at the Queens PS 20 afterschool program improved their reading

  • 1,278 children received free or affordable STEM, arts, and recreational programming at our after-school programs in 6 underserved elementary schools

  • 769 adult literacy students learned English
