What's Up Downtown Oklahoma City!

Good news for foodies: Downtown Restaurant Week is coming!

Downtown OKC, Inc. and the Oklahoma Gazette present Downtown Restaurant Week January 20-26. That's right - downtown OKC is about to turn into a paradise for foodies.

During Downtown Restaurant Week, several local eateries team up to create special prix-fixe menus that feature delicious items you won't see on their regular menus. Each meal is offered at a fixed price: $35 per person for dinner and $12 per person for lunch. And it's all for a good cause!

As a bonus, everyone who completes a comment card after their meal will be entered to win cool prizes like restaurant gift cards. For every comment card you complete, Downtown OKC, Inc. will donate $1 to the City Rescue Mission Impact Hunger Food Resource Center, up to $10,000!

For more information, including a list of participating restaurants, visit DowntownOKC.com

Jekyll and Hyde come to the Civic Center

American Idol finalist and Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages) and Grammy nominee and Canadian R&B superstar Deborah Cox bring their soulful vocals to the Civic Center Jan. 15-20 with Jekyll & Hyde, the classic tale of good and evil.

After four thrilling years on Broadway and multiple worldwide tours, this dark and dangerous love story from Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse returns in a stunning new production that is touring the U.S. before heading to Broadway this spring. The show's popular songs have been reinterpreted to suit the powerful and contemporary vocal stylings of Cox and Maroulis, but the story, based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novella, remains unchanged.

History comes to life at the Versus Series

The Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum presents The Versus Series - an interactive presentation that "pits" a historic Oklahoman against his or her modern day contemporary. (And by "pit," they mean compare and contrast in a friendly manner.)

You're invited to attend the next discussion in the series, featuring Jim Thorpe, one of the greatest athletes in history, portrayed by Robert Manchester IV, and Bart Conner - the only American gymnast to win Gold Medals at every level of national and international competition. Bob Burke, Oklahoma city attorney, author, historian, and a member of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, will serve as “referee” for the event.

The presentation will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. Admission is free for association members. For more information, contact Gini Campbell at 405.523.3202 or visit OklahomaHeritage.com
