The annual RSPCA Million Paws Walk is happening on Sunday 20 May, from Sir James Mitchell Park in South Perth to McCallum Park. Town of Victoria Park residents are eligible for discounted tickets. To buy tickets head to the website, and enter the discount code 'VICPARK' when prompted before purchasing your tickets. Million Paws Walk is RSPCA WA’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Dog Local Law review Under section 3.16(2 & 2a) of the Local Government Act 1995, Local Government Authorities are required to review their Local Laws every eight years. The Town is reviewing its Dog Local Law to determine whether or not it should be repealed or amended. What is happening now?We invite you to review and provide comment on the proposed amendment by 5pm, Friday 18 June 2018. Bin advertising trial The Town has begun a trial campaign in partnership with Keep Australia Beautiful Council and Natsales Advertising to promote anti-litter and community messages to our community. As part of the program, Town-based businesses have an opportunity to promote their services on some of the available panels on the upgraded bins. Anti-litter messaging and promotion of local businesses and events within the Town will be the only kind of advertising displayed on the available panels. Green waste collection The Town is collecting green waste throughout May. Now is the time to get weeding and pruning! Leisure News Closure of 50-metre outdoor pool Please be advised that the 50-metre outdoor pool at Aqualife will be closed from Friday 18 May for three weeks in order to investigate shell stability and carry out minor works. To ensure the safety and well-being of patrons, the quality and integrity of the works, and the timeliness of the project there will be closures and relocations in place.
