PreK-4 (3-Day) eNews

The children have been busily working on a book about Christmas.  We will complete the books next week and send them home in the folders.  We hope that each time your child “reads” this book, he/she will be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas!

Next week, we will also be sending home a brief progress report, in the weekly folder, showing how well your child knows the letters, letter/sounds, and numbers that we have learned.

Our class Christmas parties will be on Thursday, December 17. Please remember we will have a book exchange during our parties.  Children need to bring a wrapped book, labeled for a boy or girl, on or before December 15.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: Luke 2:10-12 “The angel said, Don’t be afraid, I have great news! Today a Savior was born for you in the city of David.  This will be a sign; you will find the baby wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.” (We will practice these verses during December).
  • Bible: The Christmas Story
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: Review and Assessment
  • Math: #7, review
  • Unit: Christmas
  • Show and Tell: No show and tell until January.

Important Dates

  • Our elementary student council has chosen to buy goats through Baptist Global Response this holiday season.  These animals will help a family in need and demonstrate the love of Christ to them. Students can choose days to dress up for $1 per day to support this ministry.
  • December 17 – Christmas sweaters, shirts, or sweatshirts
  • December 17 – Class Christmas Party at 2:30. (With Covid cases continuing to rise, parents will not attend parties)
  • We will have a book exchange during our Christmas party. Please send in a wrapped book ($5 limit) on or before December 15.  Please also label the book either for a “boy” or “girl.”

Reminder

  • According to DHS mandates, your child’s lunch box must contain: 1 protein, 1 grain, 1 fruit and 1 vegetable OR 2 fruits or 2 vegetables.  Thank you for your help in this area.
