modo's new music video!

We recently commissioned the very talented production team at OnDemand (who just happen to be Modo members!) to create this fun and informative music video-slash-tutorial on carsharing with Modo, featuring Vancouver band The Ruffled Feathers (also Modo members!) performing their song “All My Cities”!

We love it – and hope you do, too! Enjoy! And share!

social enterprise eco-friendly car wash

Street Youth Job Action, which offers mentorship and soft-skills training to homeless and at-risk youth, is now operating a social enterprise mobile car wash called Keeners Car Wash. Servicing corporate parking lots and car share services around Metro Vancouver, the car wash is chemical free, uses only a gallon of water per car, and produces no waste water runoff.

Modo has been contracting Keeners to clean 60 to 80 of our cars a month - and we're delighted with the results!

"We have been really happy with their service," says Modo fleet director Douglas Dunn, "and their eco-frendly steam system makes our cars look like new."

As many may know, Modo marketing director Bernice Paul has recently given birth to a perfectly five-fingered and -toed baby girl!

Stepping into the role while she’s on parental leave is Hilary Henegar, whom many may remember from her days as digital editor of Granville Magazine. A writer, social media’r, cyclist and gardener, Hilary brings to Modo her passion for connecting people with each other and the rich offerings of their city. She has worked closely with arts and community groups – such as W2 Media Cafe, CreativeMornings/Vancouver and HOT ART Wet City – and is co-founder of Vancouver media collective Girl Gang. She is also currently working on the documentary film and transmedia project Fractured Land.

Hilary says: “I’m excited to expand on Bernice’s work bringing carsharing into the mainstream while supporting our Community Partners in their work to bring richness and resiliency to our neighbourhoods!”

how to: cancel a booking

You've booked a car, but your plans have changed and now it turns out you won't need wheels - what to do?

If the booking has yet to begin, you can cancel it online using Engage. Select the booking you'd like to cancel, and then click the "Cancel booking" button.

If your booking has already started, it's even easier. Just log into Engage, and the first thing you'll see is a button saying, "I'm done with this car." Click this button and you're done.

If you're not near a computer, please call our Member Care Centre at 604-685-1393 as soon as possible, and our staff will be happy to cancel the booking for you.

The sooner you cancel a booking, the better! Modo will still charge you for time that has already passed, but your cost for the next 12 hours will drop by half and any time booked beyond those 12 hours is free.
