Welcome to the April Alumni newsletter

Dear Alumni member,

We hope you've had an enjoyable Easter. We've got lots of news and opportunities to share with you as usual and really want to continue to do so in the future.

From 25 May 2018, unless you have completed an alumni membership application form or given us clear written consent, we will need you to complete a very simple form to enable us to keep in touch with you via e-communications and other methods.

We don't want to lose contact with you, so please let us know that you'd like to receive future news, events and opportunities updates from us by completing our mailing list form.

We have added an Alumni Communications page as well as an FAQ section on the University webpages that will hopefully answer any questions you have about this.

New Chancellor announcement

Next week we will announce our new Chancellor with a special Facebook Live Q&A - and you're invited.

Like our Leeds Trinity Facebook page and make sure you're there at 11.45am on Tuesday 10 April to be one of the first to find out who it is.

Help us develop our Strategic Plan

As a valued member of our alumni community, and as we develop an ambitious Strategic Plan for the University over the next three years, we want to know what you really think.

Our online survey takes 15 minutes and everyone who completes it will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher. You have until Thursday 12 April.

An amazing month for the Students' Union

March was a hive of activities for Leeds Trinity Students' Union (LTSU). On Friday 9 March, the 2018-19 election winners were announced with Charles Isherwood re-elected as President and Jake Bainbridge elected as Vice-President for 2018-19.

On Wednesday 21 March, LTSU hosted a Varsity Day against York St John University. York St John won overall but our teams performed exceptionally well and were a credit to the University. Photos and footage from the day can be seen on the Alumni Facebook page

Then, just two days later, on Friday 23 March, it was the LTSU annual Clubs and Societies Dinner at the Village Hotel in Headingley with 12 awards, 3-course dinner and DJ. We were proud to present the very first Inspiring Futures Innovation Award for fundraising.

Discounted York Racecourse entry

We have arranged discounted entry for York Races on Saturday 26 May 2018, with access to the County Stand.

The race badges usually retail at £40 but you can order them in advance for £25 each from our online store.

There are no restrictions on the number of badges you can order.

NQT Conference 2018 - Alumni discount

Our NQT conference offers newly qualified teachers the chance to take part in a range of workshops designed to address common problems and concerns in teaching, with a strong focus on practical take-home solutions.

We're delighted to welcome back inspirational writer, presenter and teacher trainer Sue Cowley as keynote speaker. Book your place here.

Featured alumni - Megan West

2015 Media and Marketing graduate Megan West is a regular at alumni events and we are delighted she recently shared her alumni story with us.

"I work for ICS-digital working with clients such as Deliveroo, Bet365 and Visiondirect. As a company, we specialise in improving rankings and boosting traffic through quality content marketing in 42 languages across 58 territories. I'm one of three Leeds Trinity Alumni working here!"

You can read Megan's full story on our webpages to find out why she chose Leeds Trinity, how her lecturers supported her and what she likes most about alumni events!
