Let the transformative power of music guide you as you decorate recycled vinyl records with lyrics and symbols. Hang them from a height alongside thousands of others above King’s Hall at Old Parliament House.

Watch the insta-worthy artwork grow, as this breath-taking installation comes to life with the spirit of revolution.

Be part of an artwork connecting thousands of voices from different generations, cultures and identities as you are entertained by a rocking soundtrack encompassing Joan Baez, Kendrick Lamar, Paul Kelly, John Williamson and everything in between.

Come on a spine tingling tour through Old Parliament House

Back by popular demand, the After Dark Ghost Hunters Tour is back for one last night this summer!

Join us for a torchlight tour illuminated with genuine stories of death, mysterious occurrences and dastardly deeds at Old Parliament House.

Talking Democracy: Trust the People

Twenty years on from Australia’s republic referendum has public thinking changed?

Join Michael Cooney (National Director, Australian Republic Movement) and Josh Manuatu (National Councillor of the Australian Monarchist League) as they debate the pros and cons of an Australian republic. 

When: 8 February 5.00pm–6.30pm

Where: Private Dining Room 1, Old Parliament House. Entry is via pedestrian bridges, Queen Victoria Terrace.

Free entry, but spots are limited so booking is essential. 

Trust the people is presented as part of Democracy 2025's Talking Democracy series. 

Democracy 2025 is a bold new initiative of MoAD and the University of Canberra’s Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis.

Should Australia remain crowned or not?

The idea of Australia as a republic is one that constantly pops up. 

21 years ago, in February 1998, a Constitutional Convention was held at Old Parliament House, to debate whether Australia should become a republic.

This debate was the catalyst for the first ever Australian Republic Referendum in 1999.
