Dear Friend We hope this newsletter finds you and your family well. The new year has not yet brought the better days we hoped for, but we have navigated lockdown before and we can navigate it again. Single parent support bubbles are helping this time. Being gentle with ourselves and each other continues to be important, as well as having realistic expectations for each day. Sam, a single parent herself, draws from her own experience during lockdown and shares some helpful tips in her article below. In lockdown, days can tend to roll into each other, so we have come up with some ideas to help make some days more special and fun, such as today, Valentine's Day! We also discuss the impact of social media. History tells us that each pandemic the world has experienced has eventually passed. How long this will take in our present situation is uncertain, but it will pass. Until then, we must persevere, taking things one day at a time. Among the difficulties and challenges we are facing, remember that you are not alone in this. We are walking through this together, one step at a time and you, my dear single parent, are doing an exceptional job!
