If your child is interested in being baptized during our end of summer Baptismal Service, please help them fill out this questionnaire and return it to office@mvccfrederick.com. You should also plan on attending a parent and child baptism class on August 13th at 11:00am, in the adult classroom. The Baptismal Serivce this year will take place on Sunday, August 27th, 4:00pm, at Ridge and Mary Kelley's home, 8410 Peters Rd., Frederick, MD, 21704. This blessed event will be followed by a family picnic at the church, starting at 5:30pm. We're encouraging 4th and 5th grade students to attend worship services with their families this Sunday, July 16th, to hear some exciting news about missions and future involvement. They'll get the scoop on the types of missions trips they can experience when they get into the youth program, as shared by various teams of students who have been to Greece and Guatemala this summer.

MVCC is teaming up with Frederick-based Christian Mission "Advance Worldwide" to serve a need in Jordan through a program called "Adopt A Suitcase." Please bring any new or gently-used baby or toddler clothing with you to church, starting this Sunday, and help fill the suitcase we'll have set up in the lobby. These items are desperately needed to clothe Syrian refugee children that have been displaced from their homeland. For more information, please email Debbi Minto at debbi.minto@mvccfrederick.com.

MOPS registration is now open for 2017-18. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) starts its new year this coming September, and will  meet through May, 2018. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month from 9:15-11:15am, here at Mountain View Community Church. We welcome all moms and their preschool children (ages 0-5) to join us; a preschool program is included. Please click here for the online registration form. It's not too late to sign up for Frederick FCA POWER CAMP:  July 17th-21, 8:00am-4:00pm at MVCC. FCA Power Camp is for young athletes (ages 8-13) who want to develop their skill in sports. This camp provides excellent instruction and competition through sports specific and multisport focus involving rec. league, middle school, and high school coaches with the local community. A memorial service for Jim Burgoon will be held Saturday, July 29th, 11:00am at First Baptist Church, 7040 Bowers Rd., in Frederick. Jim attended MVCC for many years, and passed away on June 29th.  Please continue to pray for his family and especially his wife, B.J., during this difficult time.

During the summer, we all love to take a break from the hustle and bustle and recharge a bit by taking vacations, lounging by the pool, etc. We have a lot of hard-working staff members and volunteers who spend every Saturday and Sunday serving our church community, so during the month of July, we want to give them some time to rest and recharge as well. So, we will be taking a short sabbatical from our Saturday evening services for the first three weeks of July. We will, however, celebrate the return of Saturday nights on July 22 and 29 with food trucks and fellowship after church!

Don't "putter" around if you plan to play in the Stephon Bon Memorial Golf Tournament, sign up now; just 4-weeks left before registration closes. We'll have a table set up in the MVCC church lobby if you wish to register before or after Sunday services. This event is a great opportunity to honor the memory of Mountain View Community Church member Stephen Bon while helping his family. Stephen passed unexpectedly earlier this year, so a trust fund is being established in conjunction with a special golf tournament to assist his children. Come on out and hit the links for this worthy cause.

About 30-people came out during our vision prayer night last week to ask for The Lord's leading and guidance as we plan and prepare to reach Frederick for Christ. We ask that all continue to...

• Pray for the vision as we seek to multiply the gospel to reach the next generation and the next neighborhood.
• Ask God to provide us all with clarity and unity as we make decisions about a potential building expansion.
•Pray for God to bring us the next pastor of discipleship as we continue the search.
• Ask God for wisdom as we multiply disciples and leaders.

We are putting together some information to share with the congregation in the coming days, so please watch for announcements in the weekly news and church bulletin.
