Pick Your Own Farms
As long as it’s not pelting down, fruit and vegetable picking is a great way to entertain the kids. Not only does it get them outdoors and running around, it shows them how things grow and introduces them to fruit and vegetables that they may not otherwise be open to sampling. There is plenty still around in late summer, and the autumn is a good time to pick blackberries, raspberries and certain types of strawberries. My girls' have loved helping me make a delicious blackberry pie following from their picking!

London’s largest FREE festival, showcasing the capital’s incredible creativity and bringing together people from all communities to celebrate the city and the River Thames. Now in its fifteenth year, the festival will transform the banks of the River Thames with music, dancing, street arts, river races, carnival, pyrotechnics, art installations, massed choirs, food and feasting. The festival culminates in an illuminated night carnival winding along the Thames from Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge and a magnificent fireworks display fired from the centre of the river. It is a truly city-wide celebration of the buildings, places and neighbourhoods where we live, work and play. The locations are too numerous to list, so check out the website for further details.
