Hail Hot Bottlers!

Before we carve our pumpkins and burn leaves under Guy Fawkes' conkers, let’s raise a glass to the final rays of warming autumn!

My weeks are roasting away with jet-propelled wine hooves forging me through these days of burnished splendour.

First up, my podcast A Glass With is back! A special bonus episode is released today with special guest Jay Rayner, food critic, musician, writer and legend. Click to listen here.

The London Greek Wine Festival is back! Come and join me this Friday and Saturday when I’ll be serving up lashings of local Greek wines and delicious dishes courtesy of The Greek Larder.

Saturday Kitchen ahoy! I’ll be joining Matt Tebbutt, Chantelle Nicholson, Cyrus Todiwala and special guest Rhod Gilbert this weekend for a frolic of feasts and liberal vino, join the fun at 10am Saturday on BBC1.

And finally I’ve started recording my BBC Radio 2 tribute to Sir Roger Moore who would have turned 90 this weekend. First guests recorded are Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, producers of the James Bond films.

My tribute to Roger will broadcast on BBC Radio 2 at 8pm on Boxing Day so do tune in and raise a glass to the memory of His Rogesty this weekend.

In other news I’ve just signed up with a big fat TV travel series that’ll take me across the world accompanied by a well-known prankster. More news to follow…

Hats off to the M&S press tasting last week which had some decent bottles at fair prices. Here are three to keep you going:

Bargain: Vino Tavola Bianco 2016 (12%) £5. A peachy lemony no-brainer steal of a wine, stock up early for festive parties.

Bullseye: Pintao Reserva Carmenere 2015 (14%) £10. Stellar red from Casa Silva with dark spice, depth, mellow velvet texture and all the warmth you need to curl up on the sofa with.

Blow Out: 20 Year Old Tawny Port (20%) £35. When the weather turns rubbish, stick this in the fridge and sip it with Stilton. It’s cheery, generous and memorable as a whirlwind of sultanas spiralling down into your very soul.

Cheers and see you on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Olly x
