Student Support

Your best interest is ours too. That's why we have a wide variety of services to provide graduate students with the support they need to be successful. Visit our website for more information about a few of the services available to graduate students.

Graduate Student Lounge

The Graduate Student Lounge (M3005) is available for all graduate students. Graduate students are able to use the lounge space in many ways including: studying, storing food (fridge and freezer provided), making tea or coffee (kettles and coffee makers provided), playing foosball, having group meetings, and more!

Booking: Please email the GSA or visit M2041 during their office hours with your student ID card.

Study Carrel Space

This space has been created for graduate students who do not have an office space on campus, or for students who have office space but need a quiet place to work. A $25 key deposit is required, once the application has been accepted.

Visit the GSA website for more information and to apply for study carrel space.

U-Pass Program

As of Fall 2008, the GSA, in partnership with Lethbridge Transit, has been offering all graduate students reduced transit fares through a U-Pass program.

If you have questions regarding the U-Pass and it’s distribution, please see the GSA website.

Opting-out of the U-Pass Program:
Some graduate programs include students who are not on campus, and thus are not able to benefit from the U-Pass program. For this reason, a set of criterion have been agreed upon to allow these students to voluntarily opt-out of the program:

  • A student doing practicum work or field work outside the City of Lethbridge for more than 3/4 of the Fall or Spring/Summer semester
  • A student who lives outside of the Lethbridge Transit Service area

A student who satisfies at least one of the above criterion may apply to opt out of the U-Pass program prior to September 15, 2015.

First Impressions

The GSA First Impressions program is designed to make the move to Lethbridge, or the move from undergrad to graduate student life, smoother for new students.

Incoming graduate students are paired with current graduate students who are able to answer questions and provide information, usually via email. A campus tour is also (usually) the first part of this partnership.

Visit the GSA website for more information about this program and to sign up as a volunteer or to be paired with a current student
