CHAMPIONSHIP PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION ![]() February is American Heart Month Each year, heart disease claims the lives of nearly 700,000 Americans, making it the leading cause of death in our country. Too many of us are familiar with the pain of losing a loved one to a heart attack, stroke, or coronary disease. To encourage every American to raise awareness about heart health, the White House urges everyone to wear red on National Wear Red Day, which falls on Friday, February 2nd. Gardens Fire Rescue encourages you to learn CPR ![]() Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue and the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center are teaming up to offer a FREE Hand-Only CPR course on Tuesday, February 20th, at Fire Rescue Station 61 on Burns Road. The course will run from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Seating for the course is limited, so you must register as soon as possible. Click here to learn more about the event and register. Walk Safely on Sidewalks In last month's newsletter, we strongly encouraged our residents who enjoy walking within the community to utilize the sidewalks rather than the roadways for their safety and convenience. Following this request, we received numerous calls and emails, drawing attention to the issue of sprinklers directed onto the sidewalks, inadvertently diverting pedestrians onto the roadways. In response to these concerns, the Board has taken proactive measures. We have instructed our landscaping company to assess and adjust the direction of all sprinklers. Additionally, we have asked them to adjust the sprinkler timers to ensure they do not coincide with peak walking times in the early morning and late afternoon. We also received comments regarding an area just east of the Diamond Head community on General Drive, where water accumulation has led to severe sidewalk flooding, particularly after a recent rainstorms. Our Roadway and Sidewalks committee will be collaborating with contractors to address this matter. Please bear with us as we navigate a solution; it's not a straightforward fix, but we are committed to resolving this issue for the benefit of the community. Loading and Unloading of Vehicles In response to last month's article, we've observed an increase in car haulers unloading vehicles on both Ryder Cup Boulevard near Northlake Boulevard and on Fairway Drive. Notably, these locations are deemed safer alternatives compared to inside Eagleton. This observation aligns with our shared concern about the potential damage posed by large vehicles on the Eagleton roadways, as well as the obstructive impact they may have on fellow motorists. Thank you! Your cooperation in addressing this matter is greatly appreciated. We are collectively contributing to maintaining the overall safety and well-being of our community. Let's also keep this in mind in late spring when our car haulers return to pick up vehicles headed back north for the summer. Reminder: Board Meeting Changes Effective January of 2024 the monthly meeting of the Championship Board of Directors will take place on the fourth Wednesday of every month.
Reminder: PGA-POA Annual Meeting The PGA Property Owners Association Annual Meeting will be held February 14th, 2024 at a new venue. See last month's newsletter for details on time and location.
Back gate improvements In our recent newsletter, we expressed our enthusiasm about unveiling a new project designed to enhance the visual appeal of our community's back entry/exit on General Drive. At that time, we anticipated completing the initial phase of the project — removing the overgrown and woody bougainvillea plant — by the time you read the newsletter. Regrettably, 🙁 this did not unfold as planned due to the necessity of obtaining approvals from both the PGA-POA and the Resort. However, we are delighted to share 😄that we have now secured the necessary approvals, and the scheduled work is set to take place TODAY, on February 1st! After the removal, we will proceed to re-plant the area before moving on to Phase II, which will be announced in the near future. OUR EAGLETON NEWSLETTER
