the festival

Summer in Vancouver can sometimes take a while to get going but you can always count on the Vancouver Folk Music Festival to remind you this is a great place to be this time of year. Each year the Festival gets better; this year the line-up includes the likes of Tim Robbins and the Rogues Gallery Band and Nova Scotia’s Joel Plaskett.

Once again, the Festival has chosen Modo as its official transportation! This means that instead of renting or buying cars, the Festival is carsharing to pull off the event: over 100 Festival volunteers are carsharing to transport equipment, materials, and artists. Kudos to the Vancouver Folk Music Festival for producing a fun, inspiring, and green experience for our city. Check out the Festival line up and buy tickets or passes online. And when you’re at the Festival, come by the Community Village and share a game of air hockey with Modo.

modo carsharing tips

1. Pay-by-phone parking in the City of Vancouver is exactly 5 years old now and it’s easy to create an account online. Through this secure website , you can set up an account enter up to four licence plates that are associated with your account. This is convenient for Modo members because you can enter the plate numbers of the vehicles you use most frequently. You can find the licence plate numbers through our booking system.

2. Friends who Modo together have more fun together. Did you know that you can add Modo members to your booking? Their fob will be able to access the vehicle you’ve booked and that way you can alternate driving duties. When looking at the booking confirmation screen online, under the ‘Driver Permissions’ tab, enter their member number. More options = better carsharing. Facebook Like Button

thank you for your love + support!

Vancouver suffered a rough one after the Stanley Cup Final on June 15. With the ugly images everyone saw with cars getting destroyed, we received many concerned calls, emails, and tweets asking if our cars were okay. Thank you for thinking about Modo and for looking out for us. All our cars were undamaged, including one that was a mere three parking stalls over from a burning police cruiser.
