City of Adelaide announces $400m Central Market Arcade redevelopment partnerThe market district is gaining a $400 million investment in its future with the Central Market Arcade Redevelopment. The City of Adelaide is pleased to announce we have entered into a partnership to deliver the redevelopment with leading Melbourne-based developer ICD Property, Nanshan Singapore, Australian property development firm Sinclair Brook Pty Ltd Sinclair Brook and Adelaide-founded global architecture firm Woods Bagot.This project will help grow and secure the market district and the neighbouring Adelaide Central Market for the next 50 years. When complete, the arcade is projected to attract an additional one million people per annum to the district in addition to the nine million already visiting. The concept design includes 12,000sqm of retail, a public rooftop with green space, a child care centre, a central hall, offices, a hotel and apartments with 15% affordable housing. Adelaide Retail Legend Terry GassonIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Terry Gasson of Terry Gasson Bespoke Tailor at Adelaide Arcade, has passed away. A Savile Row trained tailor, Terry Gasson Bespoke Tailor has been in Adelaide Arcade for over 40 years. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2014, he didn't let that slow him down. Winning this year's 'Best Christmas Display' at the Adelaide Arcade, Terry continued to come into work every day right until the final month of his life. Terry will be greatly missed.
