Guest WiFi

Guest WiFi now available

A guest wireless network is now operational on all three campuses. MUGuests can be used by visitors to Massey University with a personal email address for web browsing. Staff should continue to use MUStaff and MUStaffPrivateEquipment as these networks are more secure and allow you to access the Massey Network.

Helpful test results for intranet menu, thanks to staff

Many thanks to the 233 participants who completed the 10 minute menu simulation test. The simulation tracked the ways in which staff navigated through the menu to find information, giving valuable insight into where information should be placed on the new staff intranet.

Upcoming audit for Staff network access, and network access requests

The ITS Service Desk will be conducting an audit over the next few months to check that everyone has the correct level of network access. The Service Desk will consult with departments prior to making any amendments to access levels for persons who do not meet standard network access criteria. In addition, the ITS Service Desk will only process a Standard network access request (PDF), if the “Staff ID No:” field, asking for the applicant’s Staff or Student ID number, has been filled in.

ZendTo file transfer service now available

Need to send large files over email? ZendTo file transfer service makes it easy for you to move files, including large files up to 20GB, in and out of Massey. Access ZendTo on any web browser at zendto.massey.ac.nz and login with your Massey credentials. Visit the ITS website for more information, or contact the ITS Service Desk if you experience any issues.

Potential RAM upgrade for eligible Windows computers

Massey owned Windows computers, that meet a certain criteria, may be eligible to upgrade from 4GB to 8GB of RAM. The ITS Service Desk will email the last logged in users on these eligible machines to gage the level of interest in this offer. If you receive such an email, please respond to register your interest, so that we can determine total numbers and costings. Whether we implement this service will depend on numbers. RAM upgrades are not standard practice and will not be available for other computers.

Update on Windows laptop stock

Out-of-stock, Tier One Windows laptops have been ordered.  However, due to changes in the manufacturer's configurations, there will be a delay before they become available on the catalogue. We will update the catalogue when they're back in stock.
