We immediately began an investigation into these allegations and this has now concluded. We will be writing later this week to update all students and staff on the investigation and on the work we are undertaking to ensure we become a more inclusive community. National Industrial ActionWork is still continuing to minimise the impact on your learning outcomes of the strikes held during February and March. Remember there is further information, including Frequently Asked Questions available on the website. We are going to hold some breakfast events for UG, PG and final year students, where you’ll be able to come along to chat to staff and ask questions. They’ll be taking place towards the end of May – keep an eye out for full details from your College in the next couple of weeks. Improving your education experienceWe’re launching a project to enhance teaching systems at Exeter and your user experience. We’ve held student focus groups to get feedback on core systems including ELE, eBart and Accelerate and now want to expand this opportunity to the wider student community to ensure we have a good understanding of everyone using the systems across all disciplines, year groups and campuses. This feedback will ensure we can provide the very best online teaching environment for all our students. See a summary of focus group feedback here – you can feedback your comments at curriculum2021@exeter.ac.ukHave your say on shared servicesThis is your last chance to have your say on services such as food and drink, transport and the library by filling in this survey. The closing date is Wednesday 2 May and you could be entered into a draw to win a £250 voucher. DSA Grants DSA (Disabled Students' Allowance) is for students with disabilities, health conditions or Specific Learning Differences (dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD). It’s a government grant that you don’t have to pay back and is not means tested. DSA is there to give everyone an equal chance at succeeding on their course and can include 1:1 study skills or mentoring, as well as assistive technology and software. Please talk to us accessibility@fxplus.ac.uk or 01326 253629 if you need advice about applying for DSA. Research shows that students who receive DSA are more likely to be awarded a first or 2:1 degree than those who don’t Beach BonfiresYou may not realise that there are by-laws in place which mean that open fires aren’t allowed on Falmouth’s beaches, in order to keep them clean, safe and tidy for all users. In the case of Gyllyngvase for BBQs, there is a designated area to the left-hand side of the beach (look for the signs when coming onto the beach). Please dispose of any used BBQs and other rubbish responsibly. This all helps support the hard work that goes into ensuring that Gylly retains its valued Blue Flag status, by reducing the debris on its sands.
