Kindergarten eNews

We have enjoyed our farm unit these past 2 weeks. Next week we will move on into Apples. Fall is just around the corner! Apples, pumpkins and fall changes will be our focus. We will be taking a field trip to Farmland here in Springdale on Tuesday, October 10th from 9:00 to noon. You are welcome to come along as long as you provide your own transportation. They have pumpkins, a corn maze and many farm animals.

Next Week

Show and Tell: Bring an apple on Monday. We will do different activities with them next week. Whichever apple you choose from the store, leave the stem and sticker on it if there is one. Various colors are welcome.
Bible: We have started the stories about Jacob in the Old Testament.
Bible Verse: Psalm 17:8 “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wing.”
Reading: The consonants we will work on are Bb and Nn. The sight words we are working on this 9 weeks are I like the and see. If you want to make cards of these at home, it might be helpful in your child remembering them. Our comprehension skill is sequencing a story.
Math: We will continue with counting and learning to write our numbers to 10. Next week we will also work on recognizing and naming geometric shapes.

October 10th: Field Trip to Farmland from 9:00 to 12:00.pm
October 16th: Parent/Teacher conferences from 7:45-5:30
October 17th: Flu Clinic for students
October 20th: Homecoming Parties from 2:00-2:30. Pep Rally from 2:45-3:30. Carline may be blocked and delayed.
October 24th: Junior Carnival
October 26th: Kindergarten Program in WC at 8:30. Don’t miss it!
