Fill Your Plate the Healthy Way

Do you need help making healthy food choices? The Diabetes Center is hosting an event on April 14 where you can learn more about MyPlate, the government’s new food guide to a healthy diet. Over 57 milion Americans are at risk for developing diabetes.  Cindy Mathiasen, clinical educator in the Diabetes Center, explains the important numbers  you need to know: LDL, blood pressure and fasting blood sugar levels.  Watch this video.


 

Can Kissing Cause Cancer?

Kissing can be a risk factor in spreading a virus that causes some throat cancers. Approximately 40,000 Americans will develop oral, head and neck cancer this year and the incidence is rising. A free opportunity is being offered at The Nebraska Medical Center, talk with a specialist about risk factors and prevention.
