Vivian and her daughter, Angela, are just two of the many lives where your support has made a difference.
Immigrating in the Fall of 2021, Vivian wanted to give Angela, who has developmental disabilities, a better life. Soon after connecting with CPC, Angela was enrolled in a special education school. The family was also able to receive benefits from the New York State Office for People with Development Disabilities (OPWDD), register for an afterschool program that provided occupational and physical therapy, and submit a request for Access-A-Ride services.
"After joining the special education school and afterschool program, Angela is more open-minded, sociable, and willing to speak up," Vivian said.
Vivian also found opportunities for herself through CPC. She connected with a community of parent advocates and enrolled in CPC's adult literacy program to empower herself and her daughter!
This is only the beginning of what we can do when we're working together.
This holiday season, make home possible!
In a few short months, CPC One will open. Our first-ever permanent Manhattan home will house our Manhattan Community Center across three floors, include over 200 units of affordable housing, and will serve as a headquarters for our 50+ programs across New York City. Through CPC One, we will be able to expand to families like Vivian and Angela.
