 OVO Energy Tour of Britain Business Engagement Event

 
 
 

Altrincham will be the start place of the final stage of the 'OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2019' on September 14th, which will see 20 of the best cycling teams in Europe battle it out to win the prestigious race!

In partnership with Trafford Council, we would like to invite Altrincham businesses to an event to discuss the opportunities that hosting this race brings.

This event will take place at Altrincham Town Hall between 5pm and 7pm on Wednesday July 24th . This event is focused on businesses in Altrincham and Hale, and will explore opportunities to get involved in the wider celebration events that are being planned.

Altrincham's Best Dressed Window Competition

 
 
 

Next week the BID will be coordinating Altrincham’s ‘Best Dressed Window Competition’ in partnership with the RHS.  There are 24 town centre businesses taking part in the competition and each will be visited and graded by the RHS Judges on Wednesday 17th July.

Please support the participating businesses by encouraging your customers and clients to come into town to see the 'Best Dressed Windows' and enjoy special offers around the town.

We would also ask everyone to vote for their favourite window display on the 'People's Choice' competition on Altrincham Today's Facebook page.  The winners will be announced on Monday 22nd July.

BID funded, FREE 'Netwalking' walks will take place every Monday lunchtime (with the exception of bank holidays). 

July Dates:  Monday 15th, 22nd & 29th July
Meet:  12.25pm outside Rhode Island Coffee Shop, George Street.
Depart: 12.30pm
Return:  1.15pm

The walks provide a great opportunity for informal networking with other Altrincham businesses and everyone's welcome!  

 
 
 
 

Goose Green Festival Line-up announced

 
 
 

The BID has announced the line-up for Goose Green Festival 2019. The festival takes place over two days on the Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend (24th & 25th August) with live music from 12-8pm on both days.

There will be an impressive line-up of bands and singers along with children's entertainment plus food and drink from the Goose Green businesses.  Please save the date and tell your clients & customers!

Fault Reporting

 
 
 

If you see a fault in the town, please report it to Gareth, Altrincham BIDs Town Ranger. 

Faults could include fly tipping, broken bollards, build-up of chewing gum or cigarette ends and more.  Please report faults on email

Janine Jesse, Business Relationship Manager at Santander has asked us to include a shout-out for support the Wood Street Mission.

Doing well at school is key to breaking the cycle of poverty but many families struggle to afford the correct school uniform which means children can be bullied in the playground, lack confidence and feel isolated. 

Wood Street Mission are launching a campaign to collect school uniforms, sports kits and stationary for disadvantaged children and teenagers.

Janine and the wider business team at Santander will be busy collecting from Monday 8th July over the Summer with delivery to the mission on Friday 16th August. 

Items are preferably new but excellent second hand (no name tags) clothes will also be accepted.  Items can be dropped off at the Santander branch on Stamford New Road The Altrincham Santander branch will be a collection date between the 8th and the 14th.
