Funding available for QCF units - claim now!

The deadline for claiming for completed NVQ units has now passed, but there is good news!  We have funds available for completed QCF credits.

If you have staff members who are in the process of obtaining this new qualification, then please submit your claims in the same way as you did previously for NVQ's.

If you need any help or advice, please contact this office and we will be happy to help. For more details of all funding and more information on WDF funding from Skills for Care click here

Employability skills - what are they?

People have employability skills, but what are they?  Is it attitude, skills or something else?  What does that mean for you as a care provider?

We would like some ideas of what you ask for when employing new people.

We would appreciate if you could send us your  thoughts and ideas by the 21st November to contribute to the report being produced for the Employment and Skills Board.

National Dementia Declaration for England

A call to action from DAA Dementia Action Alliance
Dementia is one of the greatest challenges facing our ageing society. There has been major progress in recent years in securing public and political commitment to responding more effectively to dementia. We now need to ensure that this commitment is turned into concerted action. With the publication of this National Dementia Declaration we announce the launch of a Dementia Action Alliance and a major plan of action to change the experience of living with dementia in England for good. The organisations signed up to this Declaration call on all families, communities and organisations to work with us to transform quality of life for the millions of people affected by dementia.

Well done to staff members from Wellington House who raised around £3,000 in their sponsored parachute jump, the majority of which will go to the alzheimers society.
