PreK4 eNews
On Thursday, our PreK4 classes will visit the Maples Assisted Living. We are excited to bless the “grandmas and grandpas” with needed items for the winter season - lap size fleece blankets, knit gloves, no slip socks, warm scarves, shawls/wraps. If you would like to provide one of these, please send the gift to school by Tuesday. The children will sing several songs and take the residents a large Thanksgiving card. We will definitely send pictures of this sweet ministry to parents.
Next Week
-
Bible Verse: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1 (We will recite this verse in chapel.)
-
Bible: The First Thanksgiving (Although this story is not from God’s word, we will learn how this event from our history was part of God’s plan)
-
Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the vowel “Ii” and the sound that short /i/ makes (think igloo and iguana).
-
Math: #7, sequencing
-
Unit: The First Thanksgiving
-
Show and Tell: Bring a picture (this can be drawn, printed, or a photo) of something you are thankful for!

Important Dates
-
November 21 - Our PreK4 classes will visit the “grandmas and grandpas” at the Maples Assisted Living. Children should wear the blue field trip shirt. They may wear a long sleeve shirt underneath if the weather is chilly. Due to space restrictions and fire code regulations at the Maples, parents will not join us on this field trip.
-
November 25-29 - Thanksgiving Break
-
December 2 - Students may bring a $1 or more donation for the Teacher Compassion Fund and wear spirit dress
-
December 4 - Class Pictures (regular dress code clothing)
-
December 5 - Christmas Chapel (with elementary and secondary students together) at 9:15 in the Worship Center
Reminders
-
On very cold days, we will have the children wait inside the Kids Theater during carline. We will walk children to their cars. This may take just a minute or two longer than on warm days when we can wait outside, but we want to keep the children warm and safe.
-
Inclement weather policy - Information will be posted on the website as soon as a decision has been made about any school closings. Since we are a regional school, if you deem the weather unsafe for travel, please send a note when you child returns to school to receive an excused absence.
