EPA ALERT: Stockpiling petrol

We have issued an alert regarding stockpiling petrol at home, including a reminder that it must be stored in approved fit-for-purpose containers, and in a place where it’s difficult for children to access.

Read the alert and information on the safe storage of petrol on our website here.

Updated information on mixing substances

We have released updated information regarding preparing ‘tank mixes’ to help keep people and the environment safe.

When mixing products containing hazardous substances - at work, on your land, at home, or anywhere else – you need to know what you are doing. Not all products can be mixed safely, and some may need to be combined in a particular way.

Find out more on our website here.

Reminder: Plastic microbeads ban now in effect

After 7 June 2018 it became illegal to manufacture or sell some products containing microbeads in New Zealand, and you could face a fine of up to $100,000 if you knowingly break the rules.

You can find out more on our website here.

EPA's Statement of Performance Expectations

Creating a world-class chemical management system is one of the main programmes of work on our agenda for 2018/19. Our Statement of Performance Expectations (SPE) 2018/19 sets out what we have committed to delivering in the new financial year, what resources we'll use to do it, and how we will measure our performance.

Read the SPE on our website.
