WHAT'S NEW FOR SECON

We are pleased to welcome Andrew Burrow as our new Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Andrew is a member of Engineers Australia (MIE Aust).  He has considerable experience as a mechanical services consulting engineer and has developed a broad project-based skill set through involvement in both a design and consultative capacity in a number of large projects in South Australia. Andrew's engineering expertise includes many areas of design such as HVAC, medical gases and vertical transportation services.

Congratulations to Brynn Jarrett (Senior Engineer - Hydraulic and Fire Services) and Harry Williams (Mechanical Services Engineer)
Brynn and Harry have recently achieved “Green Star Accredited Professional” status.

Congratulations to Matthew Fechner (Hydraulic and Fire Services Engineer)
Matthew has recently successfully completed the ‘Hyena’ Building Services Software course.

Our web page is currently undergoing a much deserved “make-over” and promises to be bigger and better when it returns.

KEEPING YOU INFORMED

Changes to Australian Standards

In our ever changing industry where Standards are continually being ‘updated’, we, at Secon endeavor to keep our clients informed on changes that could affect them.

A recent change which pertains to the Australian Standard – Design for Access and Mobility AS1428.1-2009 came into effect on the 1st May 2011. Our interpretation is that any project that has not received Building Approval and been issued for Tender by the 1st May 2011 is to comply with AS1428.1 – 2009.

Below are two pdf files courtesy of Enware Australia and GWA Bathrooms and Kitchens which indicate the new requirements.  We hope that you find the information in them useful and beneficial for current and future projects.

If you would like  any further information on this change to AS1428.1-2009 please feel free to contact:-
