Flying with Festival Fings!

So many fings!  Fings abounding!  Fings fabulous!

Note to self: "Find some fings to do..."

We're in full swing with Festival fings as the date - Saturday 15th November (save it!) looms closer.  The official Beaufort Street Festival website has been launched, check out the action here:

www.beaufortfestival.com.au

A veritable playground for our community, the day requires:

A note to self on fings to do:

FestivalFing#1 - shake your tailfeathers!  MUSIC PROGRAMME

FestivalFing#2 - honour your local culture! ARTS PROGRAMME

FestivalFing#3 - strutt your stuff! - FASHION PROGRAMME

FestivalFing#4 - get a real taste of life! FOOD PROGRAMME

FestivalFing#5 - smile awhile! FUN STUFF

FestivalFing#6 - do a spot of shop! STALLS & BUSINESSES

And for the Beaufort Street Network?  A HUGE big and wide reaching thankyou for our amazing sponsors (see who they are here) - we couldn't do it without you.  Nod. Clap. Smile.  These guys are the premier supporters of your local community.  Thank you.

There's still time for these two fings...

Hop on over to Events Ticketbooth here and buy yourself tickets for St. Michael's Laneway Dinner (long table, share style with secret menus held in the laneway) or The Mary Street Mixer (always a sold out communal table spread of delicious fings)

Another two stunning fundraiser events for The Beaufort Street Festival.  Don't miss out!

Yelp we forgot, there are other fings too...

As much as we'd love to live in the land of Festival all the time there are OTHER fings that are important!

We're partnering up with Yelp for "Yelp Shops Local On Beaufort Street".

In December Yelp runs their Yelp Shops Local Campaign. This is where they ask the Yelp community to take a pledge to shop locally for their Christmas presents instead of online.  It's free and very easy for your business to become involved, and receive massive promotional opportunities at no cost during December.  For more information drop the Yelp Perth Community Manager, Laura Dew, a line on laurad@yelp.com.au or telephone 0402 831 761 before Thursday 30th October.

We all need to encourage Shop Local - so do put this on your fings to do list!

...the important fings

This fing is important, it is a first and is also an innovative way of working towards slowing traffic down in the high pedestrian areas of Beaufort Street.  Using visual markers of art street design, rather than traditional methods (such as speed humps) The Beaufort Street Network fully supports the City of Vincent in conjunction with the Public Transport Authority's Bus Lane Program on the implementation of two Street Print designs on the Beaufort Street footpath and road pavements.

The designs will be 'bookended' on the road and pavement areas near Grosvenor Road/Beaufort and St. Alban's Avenue/Beaufort. Works on the two areas will commence Sunday 26th October and conclude 5th November.

For further information on road closures, traffic control, full details of the project and artist's impressions of the work, hop over to the City of Vincent's website (here)

Oh there are also the formal fings...

Just a reminder!  We have our AGM this Wednesday.  If you are interested in the Beaufort Street Network and what we do and how we do it, come on down.  We'll be reviewing our year, mapping out the next year and selecting your committee for 2015.

Wednesday, 29th October 2014,

Kingston International College,

131 Harold Street (corner Stirling Street), Highgate

at 6.30pm.

Bonus fing! We are also delighted to announce that all Beaufort Street Network Members attending the AGM will go into the draw to win one of the double passes donated to us by Margaret River Gourmet Escape!  Visit their website (here) to hear about this exciting event.

One more fing...

It's all about community and we are delighted to introduce you to someone very special. Say hello to Alexi who will be helping the Beaufort Street Network Executive team with our marketing, social media and public relations!

"Hello everyone my name is Alexi Chesson, I was lucky enough to be offered an Internship at Beaufort Street Network! I am currently in my final year of studying at Curtin University completing a Bachelor of Commerce double major in Marketing and Public Relations.

I live in the area and have always loved the vibe of Beaufort Street; whether it’s the numerous events or new pop up shops there is always something happening. This then drew me to inquire about an Internship so I could get involved with the amazing Beaufort Street Network and their exciting future projects. Looking forward to working with the team and meeting new faces…see you at the next Art Market!"

If you have any questions or social media requests please feel free to email Alexi at hello@beaufortstreet.com.au
