LAW SCHOOL NEWSDear all, What a fantastic first term it has been! You should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved; make sure that you take a well deserved rest over the Christmas period. To sum up the last few weeks of term: Congratulations on a fantastic set of employment tribunals - we were all incredibly impressed with your hard work and the effort that went into making the tribunals a success. Please click here to complete the feedback form on the tribunals. This form is highly important in helping us develop the future tribunal sessions so please do give your honest thoughts. A massive well done to those who have been elected as Flamank Committee members: Daniel Carnegie, George Serban, Lauren Llewellyn, Sammy Kilzie, Jake Tomkins and Oliver Jarvie - we are all looking forward to seeing the changes that you will bring to the Society. Finally, thank you to all those who took part in the mooting sessions this week. They were brilliant to watch and you should all be very proud for the courage and determination you showed in making sure that the sessions were a success. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Best wishes, The Law & Business Programmes Team Law Lab The first law lab of the new year, 13th January, will see the Junior Law Division come in to give a talk on their experiences as junior lawyers, how they got into the legal profession and what being a lawyer in Cornwall is really like. There will be the opportunity to ask questions and to find out more about the society. The Cornwall Law Society has just made membership free for students, so do make sure that you turn up to this law lab as it will be an excellent networking event. Mooting "As the first set of mooting sessions, ever, here at Penryn have come to an end, we can honestly say the standard and level of advocacy was above and beyond expectations and this was recognised by the judges. As mooting officers it is a satisfying spectacle to see the preparation, hard work and dedication from the advocates pay off. We would like to thank the Judges: Christian and Catherine who kindly took the time out of their busy schedules to judge the moots. Finally we would also like to thank Lexie for all of the hard work she put in, as there would have been no mooting sessions without her help and it will be sad to see her leave, but hopefully we will see Lexie in the near future. From everyone at Flamank: Merry Christmas and a happy new year, and we hope to see more new faces at future mooting sessions. Keep an eye out for future opportunities!" - Anton Doyle and Leonie Stussi, Mooting Officers. Upcoming News and Events BAME Month Flamank Law Society will be hosting BAME month in January.
