My Board and I will be getting out and about in the community and setting out some key priorities that we want to achieve over the next 12 months. We are delighted to be here and to serve you all. Tunnel drilling delayed a month Plans to drill a tunnel underneath the Heathcote River and close part of a busy section of Ferry Road to install more than half a kilometre of wastewater pipeline have been delayed as contractors wait for a specialist drilling rig to arrive from the West Coast. The expected date to start these works is now 29 February 2020, instead of 25 January as previously planned. Woolston Village upgrade to start in AprilCouncil is seeking a contractor to lead the upgrade of Woolston Village and part of Ferry Road. This work will make the village a safer and more attractive place to walk, bike and drive. The underground wastewater pipes will be renewed at the same time to minimise disruption to the public.
