CPC Queens Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Benefit Honorees

CPC is proud to announce its 2025 award recipients. We honor their commitment to advancing our community. Join us for the award presentation at CPC Queens Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Benefit on May 28th, 2025 at Terrace on the Park.

Honoree: Steven Raga

Steven Raga proudly serves as Assemblymember for District 30, encompassing the neighborhoods of Woodside, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Maspeth, and Jackson Heights. Currently in his second term, he serves as the Chaplain of the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic, & Asian Legislative Caucus. Previously, Steven has worked as Executive Director of the non-profit organization Woodside on the Move, as the Northeast Regional Manager for Policy & Advocacy for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the Chief of Staff for Assemblymember Brian Barnwell, and Senior Strategist for Multicultural Leadership at AARP where he focused on AAPI Community Outreach.

Currently, he is also a NY State Advisory Committee Member for the U.S. Federal Commission on Civil Rights, appointed under President Obama, which has conducted investigations on discriminatory practices in housing, education, and prison reform.

Honoree: NewYork-Presbyterian Queens 

NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, located in Flushing, New York, is a community teaching hospital serving residents of Queens and metro New York. The 535-bed tertiary care facility provides services in 14 clinical departments and numerous subspecialties, with 15,000 surgeries, 4,000 infant deliveries, and 124,000 emergency service visits each year. Through its network of affiliated primary and multispecialty care physician practices and community-based health centers, NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens also provides approximately 162,000 ambulatory care visits annually. The Hospital is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Regional Hospital Network and is affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine.
