Arts Space Wodonga Exhibition Opening: 5:30pm Thursday 6 July 2017
Murray Arts, in partnership with Arts Space Wodonga and Wodonga TAFE, proudly present this rare chance to witness the finely detailed works of Eddie Kneebone, in his last series Bones of Contention. Two of Eddie Kneebone’s children, Scott and Leanda Kneebone, will officially open Bones of Contention at 5:30pm Thursday 6 July 2017. A video work reveals Eddie Kneebone's explanation of the stories shared through the series of paintings that make up Bones of Contention and there will be a re-creation of the studio where Eddie Kneebone worked as an artist in residence at Wodonga TAFE.

at GIGS Art Gallery Exhibition dates: 20 June - 2 July 2017
The Department of Justice & Regulation has partnered with Murray Arts and GIGS
Art Gallery to hold Flow of the River, an exhibition featuring Aboriginal artworks from a recent competition, works by local school children and Beechworth Correctional Centre Koori prisoners. This exhibition coincides with the lead up to NAIDOC Week 2017 and we encourage everyone to visit GIGS Art Gallery. Read more
+ Local Aboriginal Artworks showcased at North East Water
Exhibition dates: 9am-4pm Monday 3 - Friday 7 July 2017
Local Aboriginal Art will be on display at North East Water’s regional headquarters in Wodonga during NAIDOC Week. The North East Water Corporation has partnered with Murray Arts and burraja gallery to exhibit the work of local Aboriginal artists, Marlene Plunkett, Kelly Locke, Ellie Plunkett, Tammy Campbell, David Dunn, Karin McMillan, Phil Murray, Tamara Murray, Mick Bogie, Darren Wighton and Trish Cerminara. Community members are welcome to view the artwork at North East Water, Thomas Mitchell Drive Wodonga.
+ NAIDOC pre-school program July - September 2017 We're looking forward to rolling out our NAIDOC pre-school program for the third year in a row, right around the region throughout July and well into September. We love this program, which supports the employment of Aboriginal artists and delivers an authentic cultural experience to 12 pre-schools, across our six Local Government partners. Murray Arts successfully received funding from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to make this program possible.

BlackOut at Burraja Cultural Centre are inviting Koorie Youth and families to a Burraja Youth Day to check out the Centre, listen to guest speakers and see some of the cultural activities on offer. City of Wodonga’s Open Galleries and Light Projections Aboriginal artwork will be on display at the Cube Courtyard over NAIDOC Week. Light projections of Dr Treahna Hamm’s work will be cast across the Cube Wall and Karin McMillan’s Harmony & Dreaming series will be shown in the Open Galleries light boxes, located on the northern side of Wodonga Library. Karin's original artworks Blue–Water Dreaming, Green–Spirit Dreaming and Yellow–Sun Dreaming are all for sale at burraja gallery, along with some of Dr Treahna Hamm's works.
City of Wodonga will officially launch NAIDOC week with local community members at a flag raising ceremony 12noon Sunday 2 July at the Cube Wodonga Courtyard. Celebrate Eddie Kneebone Bones of Contention exhibition with dance, morning tea and art making with local Aboriginal artists at Wodonga Library and Arts Space Wodonga, from 10am on Thursday 6 July. Billabong High School in Greater Hume Shire has recently organised the placement of new flag poles and will hold a flag raising ceremony in recognition of NAIDOC Week.
Indigo Shire Council will also hold a flag raising ceremony at 10am 4 July at the Yackandandah Office – 34 High Street Yackandandah to recognise NAIDOC week and open the Council forecourt. Community attendance is welcome at this event. Read more
