Incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace can be hugely challenging for both the victim and the team managing the repercussions and investigations. Identifying, proving and resolving claims of harassment is challenging for all employers and in the case of high profile protagonists or a brand, may well exacerbate the difficulties. Handled badly, harassment has the potential to disrupt the workplace, undermine trust and confidence in your business and cause serious damage to individuals and your brand. The seminar will be chaired by Makbool Javaid (Simons Muirhead & Burton’s Head of Employment) and our speakers will include: Emma Moloney: Emma has worked in the media space for most of her career, including at Sky and National Geographic Channel, where she was Global General Counsel. She has also held positions at several legal firms including Axiom, where her client engagements included Amazon and Sky, and Allens in Australia where she worked on the launch of pay TV channel, Foxtel. Emma is responsible for all legal and regulatory matters relating to ESG including intellectual property, licensing, corporate, commercial and compliance. Emma is also responsible for Endemol Shine International, the distribution arm for Endemol Shine Group which represents ESG’s catalogue of premium finished and format programming across all genres. Vicky Featherstone: Vicky is the artistic director of the Royal Court, has been named the most influential person working in British theatre, following her swift response to the entertainment industry harassment scandal. Vicky was the first and most powerful voice to speak out about historical and current abuses of power in the theatre industry after allegations emerged against the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. She quickly organised a “No Grey Area” day of action, which was followed by the publication of a code of behaviour. Pooja Sachdev: Pooja is an occupational psychologist, consultant and keynote speaker on diversity, inclusion and organisational culture. She has worked with a wide range of organisations from film and media companies and public-sector bodies to large multi-nationals in finance, pharmacy and manufacturing.
